Istvan Jakab founded Akvapol kft (later called Kombucha Hungary kft) in 1989. In 1994, he visited the US and got hold of an ancient fungus called KOMBUCHA, which is a solid mass of micro-organisms famous for its beneficial health effects. After bringing Kombucha to Hungary, he discovered a way of making it into a tea without killing these micro-organisms. Kombucha tea was launched in November 1995, and within a few years had became immensely popular amongst health-conscious consumers. Sales grew rapidly. Since 1998, in addition to the original Kombucha tea, the company has branched into further product ranges such as unique Kombucha concentrates, papaya products and Renaissance beauty products. Our mission statement ‘The Road to Health’ reflects our core values. Our products help people to live healthier lives and improve their well-being, which is becoming ever more important in our fast-paced and chaotic world. We offer our products wholeheartedly to those who believe in the wisdom of nature.
Our philosophy is that no one should either add or remove anything from the recipes that nature has given us.
